Care Priced Around You, Not an Institution
As an independently owned practice, Genesis Roots directs its resources into the thing that actually determines your experience — time with your midwife. No billing departments, no rotating providers, no fifteen-minute appointments. Your fee buys unhurried, relationship-centered care from one Certified Nurse Midwife who knows your history by heart.
Plans Sometimes Change
Most home births go the way they're planned. Some don't.
Roughly one in ten planned home births transfers to hospital care — most often for slow labor or exhaustion rather than an emergency. A smaller number transfer urgently. Every family deserves to know what that looks like before they choose home birth, not during it.
Here is what two families said about it.
Kyla Parrish
“I found Roxanne for my fourth pregnancy. I am so grateful for all her knowledge, encouragement, and guidance throughout prenatal care, birth, and postnatal care. This was the healthiest pregnancy I have ever had... We knew my labor would be precipitous and Roxanne was of course ready and made it in time when she got that call. The home birth experience we planned was unfortunately different than most due to excessive blood loss after delivery. It still speaks volumes of Roxanne's above and beyond quality of care and support for my whole family. She followed the ambulance to the hospital with my husband and 2 hour old newborn in the car with her. She tried everything in her scope to keep us home, documented everything she did, and communicated that with the hospital team. Miss Winnie supported my husband throughout the rest of the day- sitting with him while he waited with our newborn until I was stable. Roxanne came everyday to follow up on me and my baby in the hospital and beyond at home. She threw all her herbal and medicinal remedies at me for a quick recovery. I am forever grateful for her, Miss Winnie, and their services!”
Brittanea Daniel
“I unfortunately risked out of care but Roxanne still checked on me and attended my hospital birth. I was so sad to have to birth in the hospital but I felt protected with Roxanne a part of my team. I am forever grateful for everything she rendered.”
Transferring isn't a failure of home birth. It's part of how safe home birth works — recognizing when a hospital is the right place, getting there without delay, and not being left alone once you arrive.
Nutrition & Gestational Diabetes Support
Nutrition guidance is part of prenatal care here, not an upsell. That includes real-food approaches to gestational diabetes — working with your whole picture rather than managing numbers alone.
Hailey Nigbor
“Roxanne has guided me with such wisdom through my gestational diabetes, always focusing on nutrition, balance and supporting my whole health, not just numbers on a chart.”
Pachelle B
“I came to Roxanne after initially starting my pregnancy journey with an OBGYN and that was the best decision I could have made for myself and my baby… I felt safe, respected, and well informed at all times.”
