Roxanne Spencer, MSN, RN, CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife. Navy veteran. Mother. Woman of faith. Roxanne founded Genesis Roots Midwifery to offer Coastal Georgia families an unhurried, evidence-based, deeply personal alternative to hospital birth.

Her story
Roxanne's path into midwifery began in the United States Navy, where she first learned what it means to serve with discipline, compassion, and steady hands under pressure. That foundation carried her into nursing, where she spent a decade caring for mothers and babies across low- and high-risk obstetrics, newborn and special care nurseries, and community-based settings.
Over those years, she watched a quiet truth take shape: birth is sacred — and women are often handed a version of it that feels rushed, fragmented, and impersonal. She knew families deserved better. She knew she could offer better.
Genesis Roots Midwifery was born out of that conviction. Today, Roxanne offers one-on-one, CNM-led homebirth and water birth care, blending advanced clinical training with the gentleness, patience, and reverence that birth deserves.

Every family we serve becomes part of the Genesis Roots story.
Faith-friendly care
As a Christian midwife, Roxanne welcomes families of all backgrounds and faith traditions. For those who wish, she is honored to pray with you, honor scripture in your birth space, and steward your story with reverence — birth, for her, is a holy act of creation.
